Julie Rusing likes to cook, but prefers that her appliances stay out of sight. “I want a modern house, but I like things hidden,” she says. Small countertop cupboards conceal the mixer, coffee maker and such, and panels matching the room's stained destressed-pine cabinets camouflage larger appliances. Everything blends seamlessly and harmoniously. Maybe too much so.
